Post Details & Eligibility

🔹 Post: Expert / Specialist (Commercial Shipbuilding)

  • Maximum Age:

    • 65 years as on 01 December 2025

    • Relaxable up to 69 years for deserving candidates

🎓 Educational Qualification

  • Full-time Graduate Degree in Engineering (BE / B.Tech) or equivalent in:

    • Civil Engineering

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Naval Architecture

    • Electrical Engineering

    • Electronics Engineering

    • Production Engineering

  • AMIE (Section A & B passed) in the above disciplines is also acceptable

  • Degree must be from AICTE / UGC / Govt. of India recognized institutions

Engineering Discipline Grouping (Accepted)

  • Mechanical: Mechanical, Marine, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, Automation

  • Electrical: Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electrical & Instrumentation

  • Electronics: Electronics, ECE, Instrumentation & Control

  • Civil: Civil, Structural, Civil & Structural

  • Production: Production, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering

  • Naval Architecture: Naval Architecture, Shipbuilding, Ocean Engineering

⚠️ Only the above disciplines are accepted.

Experience Requirement

  • Minimum 22 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding

  • At least 5 years in senior management position in:

    • Reputed Shipyard / Indian Navy

  • Proven experience in:

    • Client & statutory authority liaison

    • Classification society rules

    • Commercial shipbuilding projects

    • Alternative propulsion systems (Electric / Hybrid / Methanol)

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Technical advisory & design interface for vessel projects

  • Oversight of commercial shipbuilding production

  • Coordination with vendors, OEMs & classification societies

  • Quality assurance, inspections, FAT, HAT & sea trials support

  • Strategic input for competitive bids and cost optimization

Selection Process

  • Interview only

  • Interview may be conducted through VC / Online mode

  • Outstation candidates called physically will be reimbursed airfare
