Essential Qualification NIT Jalandhar Non-Teaching Recruitment


  • Technical Assistant    : Diploma/B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc. (in discipline-specific field).
  • Junior Engineer (Civil): B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering OR Diploma in Civil with excellent record.
  • Library & Information Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science.
  • Superintendent: Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree.
  • Technician/Sr. Technician: 10+2 with Science + ITI/Diploma relevant trade.
  • Junior Assistant/Sr. Assistant/Stenographer: 10+2 with minimum typing/steno speed as per norms.
  • Pharmacist: 10+2 Science + Diploma in Pharmacy.

  • General Age Limit: 18 to 30 years (Technician/Clerical posts)
  • For Technical Assistant / JE / Superintendent etc.: Up to 33 years
  • Age relaxation applicable as per GoI rules

Technician / Junior Assistant Level 3 Rs. 21,700 – Rs. 69,100

NIT Jalandhar Non-Teaching Selection Process 2025

The selection process will be conducted in three stages:

  1. Stage I – Screening Test (MCQ Based, qualifying only)
  2. Stage II – Skill Test (Trade/Proficiency based)
  3. Stage III – Final Test (Post-specific CB exam, basis for merit)

The final merit list will be prepared based on the Stage III (Final Test) scores only.
