- Hydrology: First Class Masters in Hydrology or relevant fields. OR First Class B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering with relevant specialization.
- Pathology: First Class Masters in Plant Pathology. OR First Class Masters in Botany/Forestry/Agriculture with specialization in Plant Pathology.
- Chemistry: First Class Masters in Chemistry with specialization in organic chemistry.
- Soil Science: First Class Masters in Soil Science. OR First Class Masters in Forestry/Agriculture with specialization in Soil Science.
- Forest Economics: First Class Masters in Forestry with specialization in Forest Economics.
- Botany: First Class Masters in Botany with specialization in Plant Taxonomy.
- Forestry: First Class Masters in Forestry.

Selection Process ICFRE Scientist-B Recruitment
- Written Examination: An objective type test with 100 questions on the relevant subject. The total marks are 400, and the duration is 2 hours.
- Personal Interview: Candidates shortlisted from the written test will be called for an interview, which carries 70 marks.
- Final Merit List: The final selection will be based on the total marks from the written exam and the interview.
