Essential Qualification Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant recruitment
- Common for all Posts:
- Must have studied Mathematics and Physics up to 12th grade or equivalent.
- General Duty (GD):
- Should hold a Graduate Degree from a recognized university.
- Technical (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics):
- Should hold an Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline.

The promotions to the ranks will be as per the laid down promotion criteria. The pay scales for the various ranks as per the 7th CPC are as follows:-
- Assistant Commandant: 56,100/-
- Deputy Commandant: 67,700/-
- Commandant (JG): 78,800/-
- Commandant: 1,23,100/-
- Deputy Inspector General: 1,31,100/-
- Inspector General: 1,44,200/-
- Additional Director General: 1,82,200/-
- Director General: 2,05,400/

- Stage-I: Computer-based online exam (CGCAT).
- Stage-II: Preliminary Selection Board (PSB) including CCBT and PP&DT.
