Educational Qualification
Candidates must have:
Punjabi Language Requirement
As per Punjab Government rules:
- Must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject
OR - Must qualify a Punjabi language test (Matric level) with at least 50% marks (mandatory qualifying paper).
Failure to secure 50% in Punjabi (Part-A) will result in disqualification.
Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age (General): 37 years
- SC Candidates (Punjab residents): 42 years
- Government Employees: Up to 45 years
- Widows/Divorcees (as per rules): Up to 40 years
For candidates who applied under Advertisement No. 08/2023, the age cut-off will be considered as 01-01-2023.

Selection Process

Exam Pattern
The exam consists of two parts:
Part-A (Punjabi Language – Qualifying Only)

- Minimum 50% marks required
- Marks not counted in merit
Part-B (Technical & Other Subjects)
- MCQ-based paper
- Each question carries 1 mark
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer
- Merit list prepared based only on Part-B marks
Tie-Breaking Criteria
If two candidates secure equal marks:
- Older candidate (by Date of Birth) gets preference.
- If still tied, higher percentage in required qualification.
- If still tied, higher marks in Matric.
