Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has released an official notification for Engagement of Apprentices for One Year Training (2025-26 cycle) under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

Engineering graduates, diploma holders, ITI candidates, and management/social work postgraduates can apply online through the official website.

POWERGRID Apprentice 2026 Vacancy Details (State-Wise)

Southern Region – II (SR-II)

States Covered: Karnataka & Tamil Nadu

  • Diploma (Electrical)

  • Graduate (Civil)

  • ITI Electrician

Training locations include Tumkur, Hosur, Salem, Madurai, Sriperumpudur, Karur, and more.

Northern Region – I (NR-I)

States Covered: Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan

Trades Available:

  • ITI Electrician

  • Diploma (Electrical & Civil)

  • Graduate (Electrical & Civil)

Rajasthan Projects alone have 40+ training slots.

Western Region – I (WR-I)

States Covered: Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh

Trades include:

  • Graduate (Civil & Electrical)

  • Diploma (Civil & Electrical)

  • ITI Electrician

Training cities include Pune, Nagpur, Raipur, Korba, Bilaspur, Indore, and more.

Western Region Transmission System – II (WRTS-II)

States Covered: Madhya Pradesh & Gujarat

Additional Roles in Gujarat:

  • HR Executive (MBA HR)

  • CSR Executive (MSW/Rural Development)

  • Rajbhasha Assistant (BA Hindi)

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have completed:

  • ITI Electrician – Full-time ITI in Electrician Trade

  • Diploma (Electrical/Civil) – 3-year Full-Time Diploma

  • Graduate (Electrical/Civil) – B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.)

  • HR/CSR/Rajbhasha – As per relevant postgraduate qualification

Qualification must be completed between 12 March 2024 and 11 March 2026.
Distance/Part-time/Online degrees are NOT eligible.

Monthly Stipend

Diploma Apprentice₹15,000 (Including ₹4,000 DBT)
Graduate Apprentice₹17,500 (Including ₹4,500 DBT)
HR/CSR/Rajbhasha₹17,500

Additional ₹2,500 per month if company accommodation is not provided.

Age Limit

  • Minimum: 18 Years

  • Must not have completed apprenticeship earlier

  • Job experience should not exceed 1 year

Important Points to Remember
