The Intelligence Bureau (IB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has released the IB ACIO-II/Tech Recruitment 2025 notification for 258 technical vacancies.

The recruitment is open to Engineering Graduates, M.Sc., or MCA candidates, who have qualified GATE 2023, 2024, or 2025 in Computer Science (CS) or Electronics & Communication (EC).

Eligible candidates can submit applications online through the MHA website (www.mha.gov.in) or NCS portal (www.ncs.gov.in) from 25 October 2025 to 16 November 2025.

IB ACIO Tech Salary 2025

The post offers an attractive Central Government salary:

IB ACIO-II/Tech Eligibility Criteria 2025

1. Educational Qualification

Candidates must have qualified GATE in CS (Code: CS) or EC (Code: EC) in 2023 or 2024 or 2025, and must possess:

Option A – Engineering Degree

B.E./B.Tech in:

  • Electronics
  • Electronics & Telecommunication
  • Electronics & Communication
  • Electrical & Electronics
  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Computer Engineering
  • Computer Science & Engineering

OR

Option B – Master’s Degree

  • M.Sc. in Electronics / Computer Science / Physics with Electronics
  • MCA
  • M.Sc. Electronics & Communication

? Degree must be from a recognized university/institute.

Age Limit (as on 16.11.2025)

  • 18 to 27 years

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST – 5 years
  • OBC – 3 years
  • Departmental candidates – up to 40 years
  • Widow/Divorced Women – Up to 35 (UR), 38 (OBC), 40 (SC/ST)
  • Ex-servicemen – as per Govt rules
  • Meritorious sportsperson – up to 5 years

IB ACIO-II/Tech Selection Process 2025

The selection is based on 1175 total marks:

1. GATE Score – 750 Marks

(Shortlisting: 10 times the number of vacancies)

2. Skill Test – 250 Marks

  • Practical, technical assessment
  • Job-oriented tasks

3. Interview – 175 Marks

  • Subject knowledge
  • Communication skills

Final Merit List = GATE + Skill Test + Interview

If two candidates have same total score, tie-breaker will follow:

  1. Higher GATE Score
  2. Skill Test Marks
  3. Interview Marks
  4. Older candidate
  5. Alphabetical order of name
