Essential Qualification BEL Probationary Engineer Recruitment 2025

  • For UR/EWS/OBC(NCL) Candidates: First class in B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc Engineering from an AICTE-approved college in the relevant discipline (Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science, or Electrical).
  • For SC/ST/PwBD Candidates: Pass class in the above-mentioned degree disciplines.

BEL Probationary Engineer Recruitment 2025 Age Limit

The maximum age limit as on 01.10.2025 is 25 years for General/EWS candidates. Upper age relaxation is applicable as per government norms:

  • OBC (NCL): 3 years relaxation
  • SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
  • PwBD: 10 years relaxation
  • PwBD + OBC(NCL): 13 years relaxation
  • PwBD + SC/ST: 15 years relaxation

Selection Process BEL Probationary Engineer Recruitment 2025

1) Computer Based Test (CBT)

The first stage is an online Computer Based Test of 120 minutes duration, comprising 125 questions (100 Technical + 25 General Aptitude & Reasoning). Each question carries 1 mark, with a negative marking of ¼ mark for wrong answers. The minimum qualifying marks are 35% for General/OBC/EWS and 30% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. The CBT carries a weightage of 85 marks.

2) Interview

Candidates shortlisted from the CBT in a ratio of 1:5 will be called for an interview. The interview carries a weightage of 15 marks. The final selection will be based on the combined scores of the CBT (85 marks) and the Interview (15 marks).
